IIT Bombay (IITB) is the second institute established after the IIT Kharagpur institute was established and IITB was found in the year 1958. Today though some of the places names are changes like Bombay to Mumbai, Madras to Chennai etc the IITB institute retained the old name of Bombay as it is in its name as the college was well recognized as IITB. IITB was established with the help of foreign funds from the UNESCO.
